Another Top AEW Star Is Reportedly Sidelined With A Serious Injury

The injury bug has gotten another name.

It was recently confirmed that Jay White suffered a serious injury that forced him out of the Owen Hart Tournament. It’s a shame as it seemed that the company was finally getting behind White as a singles star. However, it appears that the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion isn’t the only top star injured.

Have you noticed that Orange Cassidy hasn’t fought since the AEW International Title Eliminator four way match back on March 19th?

That’s because the former International Champion is also dealing with an injury. According to Fightful Select, Orange Cassidy is reportedly dealing with a torn pectoral muscle. The strange thing about the report is that nobody has been able to truly confirm whether it’s legitimately a torn pectoral muscle. The only legit news is that Cassidy is sidelined with a serious injury, though it’s not been confirmed how long he will be out of action.

The 40-year-old has had a rather light start to 2025. Before he re-emerged in the International Championship series, Cassidy took a bit of a break from wrestling for personal reasons. He did compete at Revolution, though it was on the pre-show with Big Boom AJ and Mark Briscoe. Cassidy hasn’t done anything significant story wise following the Death Riders saga. The AEW star was one of the big focal points of the Death Riders storylines late last year as he fought Moxley for the belt at Full Gear. He also competed for the AEW World title at World’s End against Moxley, Jay White, and Adam “Hangman” Page.

It felt as if Cassidy was supposed to be more involved with The Death Riders story, though that’s speculation as there’s been no reports that his involvement with Moxley was supposed to go beyond World’s End. All we can do is extend our well wishes to Cassidy and hope that he comes back stronger than ever. Though Cassidy mostly floats around the upper mid-card, he is an important part of AEW and he’s arguably had the best run with the International title.

Given the serious nature surrounding his injury, it’s likely that the Death Riders story will be done once he returns, but hopefully, he’s given something meaty that can firmly establish Cassidy as a main event star. Cassidy joins Wardlow (whose time table is still unknown), Riho (who fractured her arm), Skye Blue (broken angle), and Jay White on the injured list.
