The on-going saga of Max Caster and Anthony Bowens continues.
This past weekend, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion reunited to take on Swirl’s Blake Christian and Lee Johnson and the duo was rather successful in their first match together since January.
What should’ve been a happy reunion was anything but. Though Max and Anthony got the job done, the on-going beef between both men has yet to be resolved. Max and Anthony expressed their desire to never work together again in separate vignettes.
Bowens has talked about the struggles working with Max in the past, and in the latest interview with Good Karma Wrestling, he highlighted how terrifying it was to come close to losing his job because of Max’s controversial personality.
“People don’t understand what I went through backstage with Max Caster. I can’t be any more genuine – there were times where I thought I was not going to have a job anymore, and that is terrifying as somebody who has always dreamed of being on television, being on Dynamite, wrestling every week.
“And then to come to work and potentially have that ripped away for something that you didn’t even do, that’s a petrifying thought.”
Bowens was simply tired of cleaning up Caster’s mess week in and week out.
“And that’s what I lived with every week tagging with this guy, because – I’m not gonna get into it – there was just occurrence after occurrence after occurrence after occurrence where I was cleaning up this guy’s mess.”
Was the partnership between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens a one off? We’ll find out in the next episode of Collision. Thus far, neither man is advertised for the upcoming show, but that can change in the next few days. Either way, the soap opera of Anthony Bowens and Max Caster continues. While there's likely some truth to Bowens claims, this does help add more heat to their on-going story that's actually really entertaining for a mid card story. It's unknown when (or if) AEW plans to genuinely reunite The Acclaimed, but fans should pop huge when they finally come back together.
