Was this past Wednesday the final AEW appearance for Jeff Cobb?
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the former ROH World Television Champion has reportedly agreed to work a few more dates with the promotion; however, he’s yet to sign a full-time contract. However, Meltzer also states that Cobb was offered a new deal that would allow him to continue working New Japan Pro Wrestling, which is a deal reportedly similar to Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega.
It was reported previously that Cobb wanted to continue working in NJPW as long as he could. The 37-year-old has been busy working with the Japanese promotion in 2020 and is also confirmed for several upcoming ROH events including Supercard of Honor.
There’s no word on whether Cobb has received exclusive offers from NJPW or ROH recently. The Hawaii native has been confirmed as a free agent since January; however, since Cobb has been making appearances on AEW television, it would be surprising if either company didn’t try to entice him with a strong deal.
