Bea Priestley has broken her silence regarding her AEW release.
As noted last week, AEW terminated the contracts of Priestley, Sadie Gibbs, and Jimmy Havoc. The backstage news regarding Priestley and Gibbs’ release stems from the two women being unable to travel to the United States to compete, and with new talent coming into the AEW locker room, the promotion was forced to release several stars.
Priestley was actually very complimentary of All Elite Wrestling and actually wished the company success going forward. She specifically thanked Dustin Rhodes and Executive Vice President & AEW World Tag Team Champion Kenny Omega for coaching her, and to others for giving her a chance - AEW President & CEO Tony Khan, Chief Brand Officer Brandi Rhodes, Executive Vice President & TNT Champion Cody Rhodes, and Executive Vice Presidents The Young Bucks.
There’s no word on whether AEW intends to bring back the 24-year-old once the travel restrictions are lifted. Despite Priestley’s release, the former AEW star remains very busy in the wrestling world as she’s currently competing in STARDOM.
Priestley only competed on one episode of AEW Dynamite this past year, which was a tag team match with then AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose against Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander. Priestley attacked Rose following the match-up, indicating a feud between the two women; however, a bout between the two competitors never came to fruition.
