Cody Defeats Brodie Lee In A Dog Collar Match On AEW DYNAMITE To Regain The TNT Title

Well, Mr. Brodie Lee's reign as TNT Champion turned out to be a short one, because Cody Rhodes managed to defeat the leader of the Dark Order in a Dog Collar Match on AEW Dynamite to regain the title.

We knew this would be a violent, bloody affair, and we were not disappointed.

Dog Collar Matches are few and far between for good reason - and not just because of the dangers involved. It's very difficult to actually work a match while keeping an eye on the chain and manoeuvring it around the ring, and while both men fell foul to a bit of misplaced steel at certain points (Lee actually slipped on the damn thing), they did pretty well for the most part.

The American Nightmare and the Exalted One were bloody messes by the end, having already kicked out of several big moves. Ultimately, Cody managed to wrap the chain around his opponent's face and hit a Cross-Rhodes to finally keep the bigger man down for a 3-count and regain the TNT Championship.

After the match, Cody issued the usual open challenge for the his title, and Orange Cassidy answered. They'll face off next Wednesday on Dynamite.

Tell us, were you surprised to see Rhodes win here? Do you think Lee should have had a longer run with the title? Let us know in the usual place.
