This week's episode of AEW Dynamite wasn't particularity eventful, but we did get to see a couple of exciting quarterfinal matches in the TNT Championship Tournament.

First up, Darby Allin took on Sammy Guevara in a surprisingly grounded and hard-hitting encounter. Both of these guys are known for their high-flying abilities, but right from the bell they were striking, pounding, stretching and even biting each other in an attempt to secure an advantage. In the end, Allin was able to hit the Coffin Drop for the win.

Next up was Dustin Rhodes vs. Kip Sabian. The Natural actually promised to retire if he couldn't defeat Superbad, so there was quite a lot on the line here. Despite constant inference from Penelope Ford (Dustin did have some backup in the form of Brandi Rhodes), the veteran was able to hit his take on the Canadian Destroyer, Code Red, for the pinfall victory.

Next week, Allin will face Cody in the semifinal, while Rhodes must do battle with the seemingly unstoppable Lance Archer. It's almost certainly going to be The American Nightmare taking on The Murderhawk Monster in the final, but AEW has been known to swerve fans in the past, so you never know.
