Josh Alexander is hoping to get a one-on-one match against Kenny Omega.
The former Impact World Champion made his official AEW debut in 2025. But before making his AEW debut in April, Josh has been wrestling around the globe since 2006. Of course, many fans know him from his time in TNA/Impact Wrestling, but the 38-year-old has competed in places such as World Wrestling Network, House of Glory, and Revolution Pro Wrestling.
He’s had great matches against plenty of men during his time in the business. However, there’s one man that Josh Alexander has yet to face - Kenny Omega. Tonight, Josh will get somewhat of a chance to step into the ring against the former International Champion in an all-star eight man tag team match. However, the AEW star is hoping that leads to something more.
“Kenny Omega is number one on my bucket list, and he has been for the past decade,” Alexander told Justin Barrasso of Undisputed. “I’ve looked up to him for so long, and I have so much respect for him. He earned that top spot. That’s what I’m vying for. I’ll get to step in the ring with him on Dynamite, and hopefully that snowballs into something even more. That’s my dream match.”
Alexander also names the best wrestler he’s ever been in the ring with and that turns out to be former Cruiserweight and X Division Champion TJP.
“I’ve shared the ring with a lot of talent, but I think TJP is the best wrestler I’ve ever been in the ring with,” said Alexander. “He’s so skilled in every aspect of wrestling. We have incredible chemistry, and I can’t wait for the chance to step in the ring with him.”
When he discussed working Don Callis and the other members, he excited to work with new guys like Kazuchika Okada and cites Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita as an inspiration.
“The whole group is stacked,” said Alexander. “I joined the night before Trent and Rocky Romero. Then Okada joined. It’s an insane amount of talent. I love getting the chance to tag with Okada–he raises everyone to his level.
“I’ve watched AEW religiously since its inception, and I loved watching how Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita have elevated themselves in the Callis Family. That’s inspiration for me. It’s a whole group full of top guys, and it feels like the perfect stable for me.”
