Kris Statlander Is Scheduled To Have Her First AEW Women's World Title Defense On DYNAMITE

Kris Statlander shocked the world this past Saturday by pinning Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World title at All Out. It's not been confirmed that Statlander will have her first defense on Wednesday.

Kris Statlander will be tested on Wednesday.

Statlander shocked the world on Saturday when she pinned “Timeless” Toni Storm in a four way match for the AEW Women’s World title. That effectively put an end to her 217-day title run that saw Storm beat the likes of Mariah May, Athena, and Mercedes Mone.

But this Wednesday will be a new chapter in the women’s division as Kris Statlander will face off against someone who's very close to Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa.

Statlander welcomed any challenger in an exclusive interview following her huge win on Saturday.

As for the former champion, Toni Storm, there’s no word on what’s going on with her. The former AEW Women’s World Champion was absolutely stunned at losing her prestigious belt to Statlander. Storm hasn't said a thing since dropping her title at All Out. It’s unknown if Storm is scheduled to take a break or if she’ll be in attendance for Dynamite Wednesday.

Who knows, maybe she’ll pretend to have amnesia again and come back as Rocker Toni Storm.

This is the only title match that’s been confirmed for the first show following All Out. The only other match that’s been set for Dynamite is a six man tag team match between the Don Callis family (AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, and Hecichero) vs. Mark Briscoe, Hologram, and a mystery partner of their choosing.

There are a lot of questions heading into Dynamite this Wednesday. AEW is moving forward with their next pay-per-view, WrestleDream, so the company will surely begin the build to their October pay-per-view this week.
