It was hard for Orange Cassidy to be stuck at home with an injury.
Back in March, the former TNT Champion suffered a major pectoral injury that forced him out of the ring for six months. Cassidy has just made his big return and has resumed where he left off originally, but those six months were agonizing for the AEW star.
During his interview with New York Post Sports, Cassidy went into detail about his major injury and revealed that it was hard for him to watch Dynamite
“You learn a lot about yourself and your body when you get hurt. And I’ve been hurt quite a lot. This is the longest I’ve ever been out of wrestling in over 20 years. It was hard to watch the show while being away from it. I wasn’t there for the All In show in Texas, I wasn’t there for Australia, I wasn’t there for a lot of these big milestones. And I was part of all the other ones. So it made me feel like I needed to get back as soon as possible because how dare they do those things without me? I need to be there.”
Eventually, Cassidy started doing physical therapy twice a week to recover from his injury. But the former TNT Champion highlighted how much his first month sucked because basically couldn’t do anything physical.
“When the surgery first happened, it was like I sat around for a month and a half. I couldn’t move my arm and stuff. It’s the first time you start to move it and you stink because you can’t take a shower and stuff.”
Luckily for the AEW star, he was able to recover smoothly and Cassidy has been wrestling consistently since his return in September. He just came out of his first title match since February as he fought Kyle Fletcher for the TNT Championship. Cassidy came out on the losing end of that. However, it seems that his feud with The Death Riders is re-igniting.
It first started with Jon Moxley last year when he challenged the former AEW World Champion at Full Gear 2024. The company was building a story about Cassidy not particularly having the confidence to be the leader that could take down the dangerous faction. While that ship has somewhat sailed due to Adam “Hangman” Page stepped up to the plate and winning the AEW World title for the second time in his career, Cassidy still has some unfinished business with the men who made his life miserable in the tale end of 2024.
