The latest edition of WWE NXT for January 27, 2021 took place from the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Round 2 Match: MSK (Wes Lee and Nash Carter) defeated Drake Maverick and Killian Dain by pinfall to advance to the next round in the tournament. They will face either Lucha House Party or Legado del Fantasma.

— Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Round 1 Match: Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez defeated Aliyah and Jessi Kamea by pinfall to advance to the next round in the tournament. They will face Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter.

— Tyler Rust won a match against an enhancement talent (whose name wasn't announced) by submission.

— Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Round 2 Match: Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) defeated Kushida and Leon Ruff by pinfall to advance to the next round of the tournament. They will face either The Undisputed ERA or Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher.

— The NXT Cruiserweight Championship match between Santos Escobar and Curt Stallion that was scheduled was put off, as Stallion was attacked backstage. William Regal said it must happen next week and if Stallion gets attacked, the three of them will suffer some serious consequences. Escobar then took out a tarot card, implying Karrion Kross might have been the one to attack Stallion just to mess with Escobar after his words against him last week.

— Toni Storm cut a promo about how she wants a shot at the NXT Women's Championship. Io Shirai came out to say she'll fight her any time. They started to fight and Mercedes Martinez then came out to fight with both of them, too. Storm was the last woman standing, holding the belt.

— Bronson Reed defeated Isaiah "Swerve" Scott by pinfall.

— Finn Balor and Kyle O'Reilly defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch by submission.
