Since ending his wrestling career, the legendary Dean Malenko has worked as an agent for WWE. However, that came to an end in April and it took no time at all for him to board All Elite Wrestling as a senior producer.
At the time, it was reported that WWE wanted to cycle out some of its older agents in order to bring in new ones. Now, Malenko has shed some light on his decision to join the newly launched wrestling company and it sounds like he's more excited about his career than he has been for a long time.
"I’m excited," he said. "Anything that can bring wrestling back a little bit and give guys an opportunity to go out and make a living. It’s got a lot of energy. People are talking about it, and I’m happy to be a part of it. "I’ve been busy the last 18 years, and haven’t had the opportunity to see a lot of these young guys, but I’m looking forward to that for sure."
"I’ve been weighing my options and seeing where I was going to land," he continued. "I’ve known Cody for several years, and his family, I just thought that was the opportunity I needed to go to." Check out the rest of Malenko's comments in the player below:
