Fans have been wondering if "The American Nightmare" Cody, a.k.a Cody Rhodes, would consider returning to The WWE for a long time now, but it doesn't look like the current ROH Six-Man Tag-Team Champion has any intention of leaving the indies behind.

While appearing on the latest episode of Talk is Jericho, Cody explained why he's in no rush to go back to the company.

"Somebody asked me 'Would you go back' and the answer has pretty much definitely become 'I don't think so'. And not because I don't like WWE or WrestleMania or money. Because I am literally now incapable of taking direction. If you told me you're gonna write or produce something for me, N. O."

A perfectly valid reason, and a sentiment that's probably shared by many of Cody's colleagues on the independent scene right now.

Still, it doesn't sound like the former WWE IC Champion has completely closed the door on a return, so who knows what'll happen down the line. Right now, Cody's sights are set on the IWGP United States Championship currently held by another former WWE Superstar, Juice Robinson.
