Hirooki Goto is once again the NEVER Openweight Champion after defeating KENTA in a hard-hitting match on Night 2 of Wrestle Kingdom 14.

The bout was as brutal as you'd expect from these guys, with multiple strikes exchanged over the course of their encounter. The commentators played up that KENTA may have lost a step since returning to New Japan and perhaps wasn't the striker he once was, and while he held his own, that proved to be the case.

Goto wore him down with a sickening forearm to the jaw that KENTA never really recovered from, and was ultimately able to finish off his opponent by hitting the GTW and the GTR for the pinfall victory.

Is this the end of their rivalry? Well, it looks like KENTA will soon move on to bigger and better things, but more on that later!
