More talents are set to be released from Lucha Underground, according to Lucha Central.

It was reported earlier this week that the ROH World Television and NEVER Openweight champion Jeff Cobb, Famous B, and Sonny Kiss (XO Lishus) were all seeking legal representation to get out of their contracts with the Lucha Libre promotion.

Lucha Underground hasn’t filmed for over a year; however, the promotion is trying to keep talent locked up to a company with a very bleak future. ROH and NWA were sent a cease and desist notice due to the booking of Willie Mack – who’s reportedly taking the legal route to get out of his LU contract as well.

Before signing with Ring of Honor, Cobb thought that he finished up his time with Lucha Underground back in season four. His character, Matanza Cueto, was officially killed off at Ultima Lucha IV, thus ending his long arc in the promotion. However, certain officials tried to stop Cobb from working with ROH by claiming that the ROH World Television champion was still under contract.

An agreement has been reached between Cobb and LU officials that will see the former Mantanza Cueto get his release. Once Cobb’s release is confirmed, it’s also expected that Kiss and Famous B will be released from their deals as well.
