It’s been noted how the man formerly known as Dean Ambrose will have his first independent match since 2011 at the Best of the Super Juniors Finals against Juice Robinson for the IWGP United States Championship.
Now, Moxley’s first match for AEW has been confirmed as he’ll take on Joey Janela. The bout was teased during a brief backstage segment between the two when the former WWE Champion snatched a cigarette from the bad boy and simply walked away, leaving Janela furious.
Both Janela and Moxley are former Combat Zone Wrestling stars, though both men were in the company under a different time frame. There are currently four matches scheduled for Fyter Fest including Cody vs. Darby Allin, and a six-man tag team match between The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) and Pentagon Jr., Fenix and a mystery partner.
