Bully Ray is done with Ring of Honor.

According to PWInsider, the WWE Hall of Famer’s contract actually expired on April 1, though it was expected for Ray to end his storyline with Maria Manic at the company’s Supercard of Honor event on April 4. The pay-per-view was eventually cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the report, this isn’t a case of ROH letting the veteran go due to budgetary reasons, as both sides had mutually agreed on the departure. Ray simply realized that there wasn’t much else for him to do within the company.

The former multi-time Tag Team Champion made his debut with the promotion back in Manhattan Mayhem VI, saving The Briscoe Brothers from a vicious attack. The 48-year-old managed to feud with The Briscoes, Flip Gordon, and Mark Haskins, and captured the ROH Six-Man Tag Team titles during his time with ROH.

As of this writing, there’s no word on whether Ray will go back to the WWE, Impact Wrestling, or retire altogether. D-von Dudley officially announced his retirement back in May, thus an in-ring reunion with his tag team partner seems to be off the table. Impact has teased the possibility of Aces & Eights members returning at the Slammiversary pay-per-view. We’ll keep you updated if Ray manages to sign with a different promotion.
