Once again, New Japan Pro-Wrestling is forced to cancel a string of events due to the coronavirus.

The Japanese promotion revealed that they’ve cancelled five Road To Dontaku events that were scheduled between April 12 - 18. NJPW was forced to scrap all their events in March, including the entire New Japan Cup tournament, Sakura Genesis, and their Anniversary show featuring a match between IWGP Heavyweight & Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi.

Fans who have purchased tickets for the events will get more information on the refund process very soon. The next big shows in New Japan are the annual Best of the Supers Juniors tournament, which will determine the next challenger for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at Dominion. The competition usually runs in May; however, the coronavirus situation is still murky, thus the tournament could end up being cancelled.

Everything appeared to slowly go back to normal when Stardom and Dragon Gate announced their returns to live events last week; however, despite both promotions running shows with a select number of fans, Stardom and Dragon Gate also pulled any further events for the foreseeable future. As always, we’ll keep you updated on the situation as it continues to develop.
