Ricky Starks is no longer with NWA.

The former NWA World Television Champion confirmed the news on Monday’s Busted Open Radio by stating that his deal expired with the promotion and both sides mutually agreed to part ways.

The young star made his debut with the company back in 2019 by defeating former WWE Superstar Aaron Stevens (Damien Sandow). Starks was a promising prospect that showcased his talents both inside the ring and on the mic.

Starks won the NWA World Television title at the company’s Hard Times pay-per-view; however, he would drop the belt to Zicky Dice a couple days later. His last match with NWA saw him lose a three-way contest involving Matt Cross and Zicky Dice.

It appeared that Starks was primed for a push in the main event scene as the former NWA star went to a time limit draw with current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis in season two of NWA Powerrr; however, it’s clear that plans have changed for the former NWA talent. Based off the vignette, Starks will remain in the world of professional wrestling, but the question is, where will he end up next? We’ll surely find out soon.
