Could NXT Superstars Karrion Kross & Scarlett Be Split Up And Sent To Different Main Roster Brands?

NXT Champion Karrion Kross had a pre-taped match before Raw last night, and reports now indicate that Scarlett is set to have a try-out of her own this Friday ahead of SmackDown. Could the pair be split up?

As previously reported, NXT Champion Karrion Kross and North American Champion Bronson Reed wrestled at Monday’s pre-RAW WWE Main Event taping, with the Duke of Doom defeating Shelton Benjamin, and the Colossal One picking up a victory over Drew Gulak.

Though Scarlett is said to have been backstage, she wasn't by Kross' side when he made his way to the ring, and now we may know why.

F4Wonline.com has heard that Scarlett is set to receive her own "tryout" match this Friday ahead of SmackDown, which may suggest that WWE is planning to split the couple (who are together IRL) up and have them compete on different brands.

Anyone who watches NXT on a regular basis will be aware of how huge a mistake this would be, but it's important to note that Vince McMahon doesn't watch the black and gold brand, and may simply have different ideas for the Duke and Duchess of Doom on the main roster. There might well be another explanation, of course, and even if Vince is planning to break the duo up, it probably won't happen for a while. Kross is still champion, after all, and we don't see any of his current challengers defeating him for that title any time soon.

What do you guys make of this? Are we reading too much into it? Let us know in the comments.
