William Regal has announced that he's going to give Finn Balor a few weeks to heal up following surgery to repair his broken jaw, but he may end up having to relinquish the NXT Championship after all.

Finn Balor sustained two fractures to his jaw after that brutal knee to the face from Kyle O'Reilly at TakeOver 31, and the NXT Champion recently sent out a Tweet confirming that the surgery was a success.

We had been led to believe that The Prince would be able to hold on to the title until he was medically cleared to compete, but it looks like that's far from a guarantee.

During last night's episode of NXT, William Regal stated that he'd be giving Balor a "dew weeks" to recover before making a decision regarding the championship. This type of injury usually takes about six weeks to heal up from, so Finn may have no choice but to hand over the gold.

It's hard to know whether this is storyline or not, but chances are Triple H and co. are genuinely unsure of how to proceed - especially after Karrion Kross was forced to forfeit the title due to injury just a few days after winning it from Keith Lee.
