It sounds like Lio Rush very nearly found himself on the way back to the indies.

The young NXT Superstar recently Tweeted "this is what happenes when you're not ready for Asuka" in relation to Emma being released from WWE shortly after her matches with The Empress of Tomorrow, and it appears that one ill-advised joke almost cost him his job.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Rush is said to have gotten so heat for this Tweet that there was talk within hours that he may be gone from the company. According to his sources, the quick apology may have actually saved his job but he is still going to have to work very hard to get back in the good graces of his colleagues.
