WWE released Velveteen Dream last week, and Patrick Clark has now broken his silence on that and the allegations that have been following him for a while now.
Those involve accusations of inappropriate contact with a minor he corresponded with on Instagram, and grooming by pro wrestler Joshua Fuller. While WWE stood by Dream, he was rarely used on television after that; he was also sidelined for a significant amount of time after a car crash (the circumstances behind that were very strange and led to a lot of speculation online).
Now, Clark has issued a lengthy statement on Instagram sharing his side of the story.
As you can see, he puts forward a compelling series of arguments countering those accusations, and as the police never took action, he is innocent until proven otherwise. The claims made against him are extremely serious, though, and as suspected, Dream has essentially confirmed that he was released as a result of them.
He makes it clear that the plan is to continue with his in-ring career, but whether other companies will want to be associated with someone who has received such negative press is hard to say.
As always, we'll keep you updated if we learn more.
