On today's episode of NXT UK, more information was revealed about the relaunch of the show next week and the direction of the brand going forward.
Many of the same feuds that were set up for NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin are simply going to continue, such as Piper Niven as the No. 1 contender for the NXT UK Women's Championship. She will face Kay Lee Ray on the September 24th episode.
It appears Ilja Dragunov is still the next in line to fight WALTER for the NXT UK Championship, but it wasn't specified when that would happen. It may take place at the next NXT UK TakeOver coming up.
The NXT UK Tag Team Champions, Gallus (Wolfgang and Mark Coffey) will be fighting Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan next week after issuing an open challenge. The Hunt, Imperium, Pretty Deadly and everyone else in the tag team division will be working their way toward getting a future title shot, too.
There will also be the start of the first-ever NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament beginning next Thursday. This tournament will feature eight men (Alexander Wolfe, A-Kid, Flash Morgan Webster, Noam Dar, Dave Mastiff, Trent Seven, Joseph Conners and someone who has yet to be revealed) and will be contested under British Rounds Rules, which are as follows:
- 6 three-minute rounds
- 20-second breaks between rounds
- 2-out-of-3 falls
- Pinfalls, submissions and count-outs are constituted one fall
- Each round ends when a fall occurs
- Victory is declared after winning two falls
- A disqualification or a knockout is the full end of the match no matter the count of falls ahead of that
- Whoever leads after 6 rounds wins.
Stay tuned next week for results of the first episode of NXT UK in months!
