WWE has officially signed their first French female professional wrestler.

It was confirmed last week that current wXw Women’s Champion Amale had signed a deal with the promotion, though the exact details of her contract remain unknown.

Amale has been fighting inside of the squared circle for eight years and mainly competed on the United Kingdom independent circuit. In addition to Westside Xtreme Wrestling, Amale also competed in International Catch Wrestling Alliance, Pro Wrestling Holland, and Tigers Pro Wrestling.

Amale previously had matches on NXT UK in 2019 and 2020; however, those bouts were more of a showcase for her opponent. Amale has been the wXw Women’s Champion for an astounding 444 days, beating Toni Storm, Killer Kelly, and Valkyrie in January 2019 to win the belt for the first time in her career.

Since then, Amale has successfully defended the belt against Tenille Dashwood, Faye Jackson, LuFisto, Little Miss Roxxy, Meiko Satomura, and most recently, Stephanie Maze. There’s no word on when NXT UK will return to airing live events. The brand has been out of action since the pandemic started, with “best of” videos airing on the network in place on their annual timeslot.
