Deonna Purrazzo is the new Impact Knockouts Champion!

Last month, the former WWE superstar made a statement by assaulting Jordynne Grace and now, Purazzo is officially the new champion. Coming in, there was some bad blood between the two women due to Purrazzo’s mindgames and attacks.

The early portion of the match-up saw Grace take out her frustration on the challenger thanks to her power advantage. However, the 26-year-old managed to gain control of the match-up by knocking off the champion from the apron. From there, Purrazzo focused on the Texas native’s arm to set up her submission finisher.

Purrazzo eventually got the Fujiwara armbar on for a bit; however, Grace powered out of the submission. Grace then clocked Purrazzo with a vicious forearm and continued hitting the challenger with various strikes. The champion would end up hitting Purrazzo with her finisher; however, the former WWE superstar kicked out in a strong nearfall.

After some back-and-forth strike and suplex exchanges, Purrazzo got in a butterfly submission. Grace tried fighting out of the maneuver, but she was forced to give up in the end. This is Purrazzo’s first major championship win in Impact Wrestling.
