Former Impact World champion Pentagon Jr. appears have suffered an injury during Monday’s television taping in Toronto. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Pentagon Jr. was injured while competing in a triple threat match to determine the next challenger for the Impact World title. The match-up also involved Johnny Impact and Michael Elgin.
The former Impact Tag Team champion took a bump wrong during an attempted hurracarrana off the apron, which resulted in Pentagon hurting his leg on the landing. Fans of the tapings noticed that he needed help getting to the back after the match, which was confirmed by the Observer report.
The Impact star didn’t finish the rest of the match and has had his leg taped up since then. It was noted that an early indication was that Pentagon stretched a muscle in his leg and he initially could not put any weight on it, but he was feeling better the following day. Meltzer also noted that based on how the spot went down, Pentagon is lucky he didn’t suffer a serious neck injury.
Pentagon Jr. is not currently scheduled for this weekend’s television tapings at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, but is expected at the Slammiversary PPV event on July 7th in Dallas, though his opponent is yet to be announced.
