Former WWE Women’s champion Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria) spoke on the Ring The Belle podcast along with Molly Holly. In case you haven’t heard, the former WWE and TNA star is planning to call it quits in 2019.

Throughout the interview, Varon discussed numerous topics regarding her time in both WWE and TNA, and one of the interesting things that the former WWE women’s champion discussed was her steel cage match on RAW against Lita.

It was the first time ever that the women worked a steel cage match in the company's history and Varon wanted to showcase that the female talent could do whatever the guys do. Varon details her interaction with Vince McMahon before her big stipulation match and reveals why he ultimately shut down the idea of having her bleed during the bout:

One day I came to TV, and they were like you have a cage match. And I went “are you kidding me?” We gig our forehead to bleed sometime, and I wanted to gig [during the match]. I would never do it now, but at the time I thought we were so hardcore and we can do whatever the guys do. I went to Vince to ask him and he goes, “thank you Victoria for wanting to do it, but no one wants to see a Diva bleed.” I did ask Lita to throw me as hard as you can against the cage so I can get color naturally.  I didn’t know how to do it, and I got a big knot.

Throughout the years, many fans have wanted Varon to make a return to the company, so it was a big shock when the former WWE women’s champion didn’t appear in the first women’s Royal Rumble match or at the all-women’s pay-per-view, Evolution. Varon gave a simple explanation as to why she hasn’t returned to the WWE ring:

“It is not my decision. They have to call and invite you. I still do the indies and a lot of signings at Comic Cons. A lot of people think I have a choice. The company has to decide. It’s out of our hands.”

Check out the rest of the interview below as both Varon and Molly Holly recall moments throughout their careers.
