Here's WWE's Original Plan For The Seth Rollins Vs. The Fiend Match At HELL IN A CELL

Fans were left disappointed by the way things wrapped up at Hell in a Cell this past Sunday after the Seth Rollins vs. The Fiend match ended via referee stoppage when the Universal Champion attacked Bray Wyatt with a series of weapons (in a match where it's supposed to be anything goes).

Now, thanks to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we have more details on what the original plan was before Vince McMahon changed his mind.

Apparently, that would have involved Wyatt taking a gimmicked bump from the top of the Cell, something which would have resulted in the match being ended due to The Fiend being unable to continue. However, once the bell rang, he would have risen and taken Rollins out with the Mandible Claw.

Meltzer notes that while McMahon didn't want Wyatt to be beaten early, he also wants Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair as the champions heading into the WWE Draft. Needless to say, this original ending isn't really all that much better but it probably would have been less cheesy than the Rollins covering his opponent in weapons before hitting him with a sledgehammer!
