On last night's episode of WWE Backstage, it was officially announced that John Morrison has signed a contract with WWE and will return to the company imminently. The news first broke in September and rumours have persisted ever since but both Morrison and WWE denied it was happening.

As you may recall, he first signed with WWE in 2002 after winning Tough Enough III and eventually debuted on RAW as Johnny Nitro. He would go on to win the Intercontinental Championship, the ECW Championship, and the Tag Team titles.

There's no word on how he'll be used when he arrives in WWE and it's possible he could make an impact in the main event or midcard. Either way, WWE has added a great talent to their roster and he's no doubt someone they were very keen on keeping away from All Elite Wrestling.
