Yesterday we reported that a shift in the WWE Battleground betting odds might just indicate that new favorite, Natalya, would walk away from her 5-way elimination match as the new #1 contender for the Smackdown Live Women's Championship, and that's exactly what happened.
The match itself was a somewhat messy affair for the most part, with several botches (Lana is... not good) and some rather lackluster eliminations - however, the last few minutes really picked up, and Nattie was ultimately able to get the better of Charlotte to emerge as the winner.
Many feel this is a well-deserved push for the veteran Superstar, but it remains to be seen if it actually winds up leading anywhere.
Natalya will face Naoimi for her title at SummerSlam.
