At WWE Stomping Grounds, Bayley retained her Smackdown Women's Championship over Alexa Bliss due to some unintentional help from Nikki Cross.

Cross was in the corner of Alexa, and when Bayley inadvertently hit Nikki with a suicide dive in the home stretch of the match, Cross wildly jumped the ring causing Alexa to be distracted and miss her Twisted Bliss maneuver which would ultimately lead to her downfall.

The Huggable One followed up with her Bayley to Belly to pin The Goddess and retain her title.

Throughout the match, the commentary team regularly made references to a more aggressive Bayley who wasn't just going to play nice anymore. We haven't quite seen that transformation manifest in full, but we'll see   how things play out.
