RAW Ratings Increased For New Year's Day Show But Not Even Hour One Cracked 3 Million Viewers

The New Year's Day edition of RAW was a busy episode with the return of Brock Lesnar, a reunion for The Club, and more Broken Matt Hardy antics. As a result, this week's instalment drew a total of 2,865,000 million viewers. That's up from last Monday's 2,703,000 million viewers, news which probably shouldn't come as a surprise seeing as that one aired live on Christmas Day.

Hour one averaged 2,969,000 viewers, hour two drew 2,912,000 viewers, and the final hour of the show averaged 2,714,000 viewers. That means RAW never managed to pass the 3 million mark.

In fairness, the show was competing with two semi-final college football games on ESPN and it still did pretty well overall. Now, with the Royal Rumble PPV looming, we can probably expect ratings to rise, especially as more and
more big names are added to both the men and women's 30-person matches. However, we already pretty much know which big singles matches will be taking place.
