TNA's Masha Slamovich Appears On WWE NXT, Karmen Petrovic Kisses Ashante Adonis & Other Notes

A variety of random things happened on tonight's episode of WWE NXT, and some of it might have gotten lost in the shuffle. This post is where you'll find everything that wasn't already given its own separate post, but is still worth calling attention to.

Of course, for the full breakdown of what happened on NXT, click here. On top of that, check out the news about Bayley's segment with Roxanne Perez and the state of several title matches to come.

Here are some other noteworthy news snippets from tonight:

TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich appeared on tonight's episode. While she didn't partake in any of the action, she was shown ringside watching the match between Cora Jade and Kelani Jordan. Vic Joseph plugged the upcoming TNA Genesis pay-per-view while she was out, further illustrating that while this partnership with TNA Wrestling and WWE has slowed down, it apparently isn't entirely over. Since the match between Jade and Jordan was brought about in part because Jade had said to Jordan backstage that she would win a title next before Jordan, might this be a tease that we see Jade sent over to TNA Wrestling to compete for the Knockouts Championship sometime soon?

The love story between Karmen Petrovic and Ashante "Thee" Adonis took a major step forward as they shared their first on-screen kiss and are now officially moving forward as a couple. Adonis gave Petrovic a rose and said he wanted to stop playing games and have a fresh start with the new year. She expressed finally and planted a kiss on him. No Nikkita Lyons in sight, which may also indicate she's gone from this angle, or might come back into it to cause more trouble next week for all we know.

Ethan Page may have "injured" Dante Chen at least in storyline. After Page defeated Chen, he took Chen's boot off, placed Chen's foot between the steel steps and the ring post, and kicked the steps. As Chen was being looked at by officials, Je'Von Evans attacked Page, only to be quickly taken down with a shot to his injured jaw.

WWE also taped matches for the upcoming Legends & Future Greats show (aka WWE LFG) prior to NXT going live. Traditionally, this would be when NXT Level Up would be recorded in advance, but as that show has been cancelled, these tapings are replacing it for the future. It is expected a new show called NXT Evolve will air at some point this year, and it is unknown when these particular matches taped tonight will be shown on WWE LFG, but these three matches went down:

  • Bayley Humphrey vs. Dani Sekelsky
  • Sirena Linton vs Penina Tuilaepa
  • Drake Morreaux vs Chris Island

There was no sight or mention of Corey Graves tonight, despite how Graves had teased that he would have a lot to say on NXT tonight after complaining on social media of his demotion back to the developmental brand's commentary team.
