Celebrity guest stars on RAW and SmackDown have become the norm over the years, though there was a time when we'd see Hollywood A-Listers - and C-Listers - part of the shows on a near-weekly basis. It was an annoying fad that frustrated many wrestling fans, especially when it was clear a lot of these people weren't remotely interested in the product.
Some were and clearly had fun interacting with the WWE Superstars they crossed paths with, while others were obviously only there because they had no other choice.
It seems Jonah Hill falls into the latter category based on recent comments from WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. The Superbad actor came in to serve as a guest host on the November 21, 2011 edition of RAW, but didn't end up appearing despite being advertised.
So, what happened?
"He’s not a wrestling fan. There was a reason why Jonah Hill was advertised as the guest GM and it never aired," he explained. "The guys hated working with him. There were some like Hugh Jackman...The Muppets, they loved it. Almost everyone was a good experience."
"Jonah Hill was one that didn’t even make the air because he apparently just didn’t want to be there and it showed. I think somebody saw him mouthing to his agent, 'Get me out of here.'"
Pro wrestling isn't for everyone and these comments echo those made by Road Dogg last month when he said, "[WWE] ended up getting hot at him and just said, 'We're not doing it. Screw it.' I just know a lot of people talked bad about him after it didn't happen."
WWE has definitely moved away from constant celebrity appearances in recent years, though Logan Paul's impressive in-ring debut proves that, when someone does love the business, they can excel in it (even as an outsider).
