Baron Corbin's time in WWE has certainly been eventful. After making his mark in NXT, he was called up to the main roster where he immediately won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
He's since been pushed as a talent across all parts of the card, including as an authority figure for a time. That wasn't a popular decision on WWE's part and many fans blame the creative decisions made during that era on what proved to be a tough time for the company in terms of ratings.
After being everything from King Corbin to Happy Corbin, the Baron returned to NXT where he's proven to be a fairly invaluable part of the developmental brand.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Corbin weighed in on his in-ring future and admitted to having mulled over the possibility of ending his career in NXT.
"I have a four-year-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old, and I'm going like, 'I want them to see me wrestle and remember it too.' Then I'm going, 'Well, if it ends tomorrow...' It's an internal struggle for sure, because I love what I do. I love traveling. Even my wife is like, 'Would you stay in NXT for the rest of your career?'"
"And I'm like, 'Maybe,' because I love traveling and performing in front of these different audiences and experiencing the different cultures and the different cities and countries and places throughout the world, from performing in Philly to Texas to Seattle to Toronto to Japan, to China to South America, to Mexico to Saudi Arabia."
"All of these countries I've been to and experienced the food and the city and the people and the appreciation for what we do. It's going to be a very hard pill to swallow some day when that is gone, because that's what you appreciate, is for me, those things."
Corbin has been part of WWE since 2012 and it's hard to say what more he could do on the main roster at this stage without yet another significant character overhaul. Surprisingly, he's only had one title reign to his name and that came when he won the United States Championship in 2017.
Since returning to NXT, he's feuded with the likes of Gable Steveson, Carmelo Hayes, and Bron Breakker, providing that next generation of WWE Superstars with an experienced hand they can learn from in the ring.
