WWE Superstar Finn Balor Was Advised Against Utilising Facepaint When He First Came Up With The Idea
Finn Balor's "Demon" persona has gotten over huge in the WWE, but back in Japan when the Irish wrestler first came up with the idea to utilise facepaint he was advised against it by a current WWE superstar...
Though he doesn't come to the ring as "The Demon" every time he competes, it's still hard to imagine Finn Balor without that side of his personality.
Donning the makeup is one of the major reasons he became so popular in both Japan and NXT, but if one of Finn's pals and current WWE RAW colleague Karl Anderson had a say in things, The Demon wold probably never have been let out to play.
Here's what Balor had to say during a recent interview with Al Arabiya:
“Honestly, the first time “The Demon” came, and it wasn’t referred to as “The Demon” at that point — I just wanted to use body paint. The first time I did that, I said to my best friend Karl Anderson that I’m going to do this thing. I explained to him what I was doing and he said, ‘Do not do that, you’re going to be laughed out of the building.’”
Good thing Finn didn't listen and decided to take a risk, because his entrance as The Demon is one of the coolest things in Wrestling right now.
