AEW DYNAMITE Drew Record-Low Ratings On Friday After Being Preempted For NBA Playoffs

While All Elite Wrestling Dynamite has done great ratings since WWE NXT moved to Tuesday night, the go-home show for Double Or Nothing did pretty terribly on Friday night after being preempted. Check it out!

WarnerMedia recently made the decision to move AEW Dynamite from TNT to TBS in 2022, though the expectation is that the ratings will benefit from the change.

Unfortunately, they certainly didn't benefit from the show being preempted last week as the Friday night edition of Dynamite plummeted in the ratings. With the NBA Playoffs airing on Wednesday night, the Double Or Nothing go-home edition drew a disappointing 526,000 viewers on TNT.

That's a drop of 36% from last week's 821,000 viewers when the show aired in its regular Wednesday night timeslot. Dynamite still drew a 0.20 rating in the key 18 - 49 demographic, a 28.6% drop from the previous week's 0.28 rating.

The numbers aren't overly surprising, especially when Dynamite didn't start until 10pm. This week's episode is also set to air on Friday, so time will tell how that edition performs.

This rating was the lowest number in AEW history (it had to happen eventually).

Unlike WWE, AEW promotes its shows in advance and actually airs what they promise will happen. With WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry set to address fans after his shock signing with the company, there's certainly a compelling enough reason to tune in (we'll also see the fallout from Double Or Nothing).
