Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:
On tap for tonight's episode, this is the second week in a row where there's barely a card announced in advance. Is that a sign of travel issues, injuries, or is it a problem where Tony Khan isn't deciding things until the last minute (a la Vince McMahon style)? In any fashion, AEW is once again banking on setting up an international title contender over a multi-week process and filling in time with promos and fallout segments from AEW Revolution.
When it comes to the promos, we'll hear from MJF following his loss to "Hangman" Adam Page, "Timeless" Toni Storm will be moving on from Mariah May after their fantastic Hollywood Ending Falls Count Anywhere match from Revolution, and Kenny Omega is also set to speak, likely to help set up the International Championship Eliminator Tournament, wherein the winner will get a shot at Omega's title at AEW Dynasty coming up on April 6th.
The way this tournament will work is that tonight, Orange Cassidy will face Hechicero, and a wild card unknown mystery wrestler will face The Beast Mortos. This Saturday on Collision, Katsuyori Shibata vs. Ricochet and Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis. The four winners will face off in a four-way on next week's Dynamite. There's no telling who this mystery person will be, but it would be interesting to be a new signing like "Speedball" Mike Bailey or Josh Alexander.
Also added onto the card is Willow Nightingale against Penelope Ford, which should go to Nightingale, especially if Kris Statlander and Thunder Rosa get involved, as they've been feuding with Ford (and Megan Bayne) as of late.
Here are your results for AEW Dynamite March 12, 2025:
- Promo: Kenny Omega spoke about winning the International Championship, Konosuke Takeshita taking him to his limit, coming back from diverticulitis, and how he wants to be a fighting champion.
- The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and HOOK) defeated Eli Theseus, Gabriel Aeros, and Vinny Pacifico by pinfall
- Ricochet cut a promo about Shibata, as he's facing him on Saturday's Collision.
- Swerve Strickland plans to win the AEW World Championship at Dynasty, just like he did last year.
- Cope talked about how he didn't lose at Revolution. Jon Moxley responded by saying that he'll defend the title next week on Dynamite against Cope in a street fight.
- Powerhouse Hobbs and Hologram defeated Brian Cage and Dralistico by pinfall.
- MVP wants The Hurt Syndicate to take tonight and next week off. They still plan on going to Gold's Gym.
- "Timeless" Toni Storm cut a promo about how it's time to "get this orgy started." She was then attacked by Megan Bayne.
- AEW International Title Eliminator Tournament: "Speedball" Mike Bailey defeated The Beast Mortos by pinfall.
- Renee Paquette interviewed Christian Cage and The Patriarchy about Cage's cash-in. Cage refuses to talk to anyone associated with Jon Moxley and tells her to leave. Cage then says he's still the reigning, defending, next world champion, and he demands his contract to be reinstated as he wanted a one-on-one match with Cope, so he blames the referee, and acts like Moxley put him in an illegal choke hold, and he wasn't passing out, he was just gathering his breath. Nick Wayne interrupted him to say that he's just making excuses and he's lying to everyone, including them. If Cage had stuck with the original plan, he'd be champion, and Cage owes them both an explanation and an apology. Cage says "I'm sorry it's come to this" and pushes Wayne. His mom stands up for him and Cage says if she has something to say, she can go back to working the midnight shift at Waffle House. Cage asks Wayne how many titles he or his biological father ever won. Wayne should be thanking his lucky stars he "found him." He suggests Wayne shuts his mouth and keeps riding his coattails, because the next time they have this conversation will be the last time. He storms off with Kip Sabian as Mother Wayne comforts Nick.
- Footage from last Sunday of Lexy Nair goes to get a word with MJF, who looks in the mirror, calls himself a fraud, and punches it, then yells at Nair to leave. MJF then came out for a promo to say that he's going to get one over on "Hangman" Adam Page, as this thing between them isn't over by a long shot. MVP then interrupted to talk about how the roster doesn't fear MJF anymore and how MJF should be upset and hurting people after losing to Page. They do fear The Hurt Syndicate, though, and MVP wants to help him out. MVP offers a business card (or as he says, a "golden ticken opportunity to change your career") to Maxwell Jacob Friedman and wants to talk business. MJF turns it down immediately, says MVP that he's one of the few people he does respect, but he's not the same kid he was years ago when he asked MVP for advice. He doesn't need it anymore. Whether the morons in the crowd want to hear it or not, he was world champion for 406 consecutive days. MVP says to focus on "was" and gives him the card and walks off. MJF puts the card in his pocket to end the segment.
- "Platinum" Max Caster tried and failed again to get the crowd to chant "let's go Max, you're the best wrestler alive." Konosuke Takeshita answers the open challenge. Caster thinks Takeshita is out there to invite him into The Don Callis Family rather than to fight him. In one strike, Takeshita takes out Caster, but pulls him up on the two-count to be able to beat him up some more. After a Raging Fire, Konosuke Takeshita defeated Max Caster by pinfall.
- Chris Jericho cut a promo backstage looking at Gravity's mask.
- Willow Nightingale defeated Penelope Ford by pinfall. Ford then attacked Nightingale with a chair after the match until Kris Statlander made the save. Willow was confused at first and nearly hit Statlander. As they took a second to collect themselves, Megan Bayne took them both out.
- Mercedes Mone was interviewed by Renee Paquette about retaining her TBS Championship over Momo Watanabe at Revolution. Mone asked for Billie Starkz to join them. They agreed to no physicality for the interview. Starkz makes fun of Mercedes being kicked in the throat, puts her over for accomplishing a lot, touts her own accolades, and next week, she's looking to change into a champion. Mone says Starkz is way out of her league and next week, she's going to prove there's a price ot pay when you mess with Mone.
- Tony Schiavone interviewed Will Ospreay in the ring. Ospreay put over Kyle Fletcher for how great he is, talked about how he's in hot water with his wife over doing something stupid by jumping off the cage. What's next for him is going after some gold, but Cope and Swerve Strickland are already getting their title shots. So he's calling his shot for All In: Texas, and he's going to do so by winning the Owen Hart Cup.
- Jay White was interviewed by Renee Paquette, saying he didn't hit Cope at Revolution on purpose. He thinks that he deserves to be the No. 1 contender and he'll be damned if anyone takes his spot.
- "Hangman" Adam Page was interviewed by Renee Paquette after the commercial break, but immediately interrupted by MJF. Renee ran off. Page says he doesn't believe MJF not caring about what people think about him, and that he doesn't have it in him to have lit him on fire. MJF thinks Page is feeling high and mighty right now, but the next part of the story is that MJF becomes a multi-time world champion and first-ballot Hall of Famer, but Hangman will scratch and claw his way to the top of the mountain only to tumble all the way down again, wallowing in his self-pity. Page's biggest insecurity is that he doesn't think he deserves the love of the fans, and one day, the crowd will get sick and tired of him winning the big one. He's never going to make them proud, but MJF will win it over and over again, laughing at Page the whole way up the mountain.
- AEW International Title Eliminator Tournament: Orange Cassidy defeated Hechicero by pinfall.
