This week's special anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite featured four big championship matches, and while no titles would end up changing hands, we did see some quality encounters.

FTR opened the show to defend the AEW Tag Team Championships against Best Friends. Trent and Chuck put up a hell of a fight, but Cash and Dax ultimately resorted to cheating (Tully Blanchard clocked Chuck with one of the belts), and were able to retain after some solid back-and-forth action.

Afterwards, Miro and Kip Sabian attacked "Good Friends" because one of 'em crashed through their favorite arcade game during the match (JFC).

Later in the night, Hikaru Shida successfully defended the AEW Women's Championship against Big Swole. This was a decent, if slightly sloppy bout, and Shida was able to keep her opponent down for a three-count after hitting back-to-back (well, back-to-front) running knee strikes.

Finally, Cody managed to hold on to the TNT Championship... just about. Orange Cassidy was very impressive, taking The American Nightmare to the limit and coming very close to defeating him to win the title. The King of Sloth Style actually looked like he had Cody down for the count after locking him in a mousetrap pin, but the time limit expired before the ref could count to three.
