Tonight on AEW Dynamite, there was a four-way match that served as the finale of teh AEW International Championship Eliminator Tournament, which was to determine the No. 1 contender who would challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW International Championship at AEW Dynasty coming up on April 9, 2025 at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennyslvania.
What's interesting is that despite "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Orange Cassidy, Ricochet, and Mark Davis all fighting for that spot, it turns out actually two of them will be fighting Omega.
That is because Bailey went for a pinfall on Davis, but Ricochet was able to get on top of both of them and secure himself a pin on Davis at the same time. Despite having his feet on the ropes for leverage, which would disqualify him from a valid pinfall had the referee noticed, Ricochet was counted as equally pinning Davis, meaning both he and Bailey will be facing Omega, as that match has now become a three-way.
Megan Bayne defeated Kris Statlander tonight as well, and fought with "Timeless" Toni Storm after the match. Storm then grabbed a microphone and said in her own special way that she'll be defending the AEW Women's World Championship against Bayne at AEW Dynasty as well.
Also, because Jon Moxley retained the AEW World Championship over Cope in their Street Fight, it is now official that he will be defending the title against Swerve Strickland, who had defeated Ricochet at AEW Revolution to earn the No. 1 contender right to challenge next for the title.
This brings the updated lineup for AEW Dynasty 2025 to the following card:
- Singles Match for the AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Swerve Strickland
- Singles Match for the AEW Women's World Championship: "Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs. Megan Bayne
- Three-Way Match for the AEW International Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. "Speedball" Mike Bailey vs. Ricochet
