We may never know who was truly responsible for what happened on the night of "Brawl Out," but it's become clear that the rift between The Elite and CM Punk is far from fixed.
Some sort of backstage fight allegedly took place between Punk and Jack Perry before this weekend's All In, with many theorising that the latter's friendship with Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and "Hangman" Adam Page was at least partly responsible for the altercation.
Multiple outlets are reporting that both Punk and Perry have been suspended by AEW, potentially meaning they'll both miss this weekend's All Out PPV in Chicago. Apparently, Punk was so incensed by what happened, that he threatened to quit the company in the heat of the moment.
Punk is thought to want a drama-free locker room at AEW Collision, though that's seemingly compromised whenever anyone from AEW Dynamite is on the show. This sort of division within the company is borderline laughable, and even if certain wrestlers are trying to antagonise the Best in the World at the behest of their buddies, it's surprising the "Real AEW World Champion" is letting it get to him.
Then again, Punk may have had good reason to be unhappy heading into All In.
After arriving at London's Heathrow Airport, the phone number Punk had been given reportedly didn't work, meaning he had no one there to greet him and get him to the hotel. As a result, he had to buy a train ticket and make his own way there.
A quick look on social media, meanwhile, reveals that the person responsible for sorting travel is a big fan of The Young Bucks.
There are lots of conflicting reports about how the fight played out, but it's said Punk told people at the show "he hates this place" as a result of the constant drama with other wrestlers. AEW President Tony Khan appears to have a real issue with managing his roster so much of the blame for this can be laid at his feet.
Punk's pro wrestling return should have been epic, but it's been largely overshadowed, as has All In, something which has generated a lot of bad feeling backstage. Simply put, Khan needs to stop being such a mark - and quite trying to turn himself into an on-screen personality - and get his house in order.
