It sounds like Chase Owens is leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The Bullet Club member has been with the Japanese promotion since 2014, successfully retaining the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship against Bushi at King of Pro Wrestling.

Since then, Owens joined the Bullet Club under the leadership of Kenny Omega, and the 29-year-old remains one of the original members of the popular faction alongside Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa (The Guerillas of Destiny), Bad Luck Fale, and Yujiro Takahashi.

Owens revealed on social media that Friday, January 31 was the final day on his New Japan Pro Wrestling contract. Based on the announcement, it doesn’t appear that Owens will be sticking with the promotion going forward.

While Owens is a talented wrestler, he hasn’t done much within the promotion. Despite being in the Bullet Club, the Tennessee native has yet to win any titles in NJPW.
