Since 2014, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling have been presenting a joint tour called War of the Worlds. The tour has given fans big dream matches such as Bullet Club (Cody, Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Bushi, Evil, Hiromu Takahashi, Sanada and Tetsuya Naito), Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Steen, and AJ Styles vs. Kazuchika Okada (with Gedo) vs. Michael Elgin for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

The latest uploaded match from the tour takes us back to 2015 where AJ Styles was coming off regaining the IWGP Heavyweight title from Hiroshi Tanahashi, along with his title defense against 2015 New Japan Cup winner Kota Ibushi. Not surprisingly, the Bullet Club was the hottest thing on the independent scene with AJ Styles on top as the leader.

Coming in, The Kingdom had a bit of a steam as well. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett defeated Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows at Invasion Attack to become the new IWGP Tag Team Champions. The duo was expected to hold their first title defense against the former champs at Dominion 7.5 in Osaka-jo Hall on July 5, and Gallows and Anderson wanted Styles and The Bucks to make sure that the new IWGP Tag Team Champions walked into the NJPW pay-per-view hurt.
