CM Punk deserves props for entering the octagon but it's fair to say that his mixed martial arts career was a disaster. Now, with Dana White saying that he won't compete in UFC again, Punk's future is very much up in the air and he's now addressed what might come next for him. Could that include a return to the wrestling ring? For now, it appears as if he's going to be keeping his options open.
"I don’t think it’s UFC or bust," he explained. "I’m definitely in a weird position, you know what I mean? There are other places out there but would I go, should I go? Deserves got nothing to do with it. I still look at it like the world’s my oyster. I’m fortunate enough to kinda pick and choose. I’d be the first to admit – you know me, I’m brutally honest – probably doesn’t make a lot of sense for me to fight in the UFC again. We’ll have to wait and see what happens."
Punk confirmed that he hasn't been offered the chance to fight elsewhere and compared a return to pro wrestling as being "like an escape hatch" as there's "nothing that interests me in wrestling."
As for All In, Punk says that while he did speak to Matt Jackson about the event but it was always a pretty vague offer and he was never given an official chance to take part in the Indy wrestling event.
