Top Independent stars Pentagon Jr and Fenix have been rumored heavily for a future in the WWE very soon. The rumors were fueled even more when MLW teased that the Lucha Bros would make the jump to NXT in 2019.

However, it doesn’t appear that the Lucha Brothers will be going to the WWE anytime soon. Their current contract status with Lucha Underground will prevent them from doing so at this moment, reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

“It’s the same thing with everyone. They’re under contract with Lucha Underground, and they’re not able to go anywhere right now,” explained Meltzer. “I think that when the season is up, I think that they have an out, and at that point, people are saying they are going to WWE, and they very well may.”

Pentagon seemed to address he would not be signing with WWE anytime soon at a PCW Ultra event last week, during which Pentagon cut a promo to the live crowd saying he would be in PCW for “many more years” and will continue to reign as the company’s top champion.
