Kota Ibushi first shocked many by making an appearance at The New Beginning event in Osaka. The New Japan star was out due to a concussion he suffered back in his match against Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 13.

The former NEVER Openweight champion then got on the mic and told fans that he does not intend to leave the company and announced that he will make his return at the New Japan Cup.

Rumors of Ibushi going to AEW began circulating when his Golden Lovers partner, Kenny Omega, made it clear during an interview with Wrestling Observer Radio that the door would also be open for the New Japan star to come to All Elite Wrestling.

Once Ibushi confirmed that he won’t be leaving the promotion anytime soon, Omega sent out this tweet, which translates to “See you again one day. Good luck.” (courtesy of wrestletalk.com)
