Former eight-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Rocky Romero has announced that he’s signed a multi-year deal with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Meltzer confirmed that Romero has a multi-year deal with the company as New Japan is trying to lock down talents to longer contracts. Wrestlezone was able to provide the quote from the wrestling journalist:

“Juice Robinson and Rocky Romero were three-year deals. I don’t know the length of Chase Owens’ deal but I know it’s more than a year, so it may very well be also three years. Tanahashi was also multi-year. We’re not going to have this situation where every year they worry about what’s going on. They’re gonna to try to get this thing a lot more stability with long-term contracts.”

Since returning to New Japan back in 2010, the multi-time Junior Heavyweight champion has been able to make a splash in not only the company’s Junior tag team division, but as a singles competitor as well.

Romero is also a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion. These days, Romero doesn’t wrestle much and instead spends his time as the manager of Roppongi 3K (SHO & YOH) and a commentator on different occasions for the promotion.
