After 33 years in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Takashi Lizuka will officially retire next month.

The news was announced by NJPW Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi during the post Wrestle Kingdom press conference. His retirement date is February 21, when a official ceremony will take place at the Korakuen Hall. His final opponent has not been confirmed yet.

The 52-year old made his debut in the company back in 1986 and has spent the entirety of his run with New Japan; however, he has wrestled for the likes of WCW, AAA, AJPW, NOAH and RevPro throughout his career. The decorated veteran is a former three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion.
