After one of the most storied careers in pro-wrestling, Jushin “Thunder” Liger has now officially retired from in-ring action.

The legendary masked wrestler competed in his final match yesterday during Night 2 of NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 14, and this morning's New Year Dash kicked-off with his retirement ceremony. The likes of Tanahashi, Okada and many more were in attendance, and Liger also received a video message from Antonio Inoki.

Liger, real name Keiichi Yamada, then gave a farewell speech in which he thanked his family and legions of fans, and left the ring after a 10-bell salute. It was a fitting sendoff for a true icon in the pro-wrestling business.
