Right now, The Young Bucks are arguably the hottest tag team act in professional wrestling. This all stems from 15 years of blood, sweat, and tears inside the squared circle. The guys are coming off the much praised All In show and despite losing the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team titles last Sunday, the Bucks still feel blessed with the position that they are currently in:
"Man, we've been blessed right now." Nick states on Heated Conversations with Booker T
, "we're in a position where we're pretty much doing whatever we want and we have the freedom to pretty much wrestle for whatever company we would like to do. And, man, it [has] been a journey to get to the point where we have control of our destiny, so to speak, but, man, we're enjoying life and we're enjoying our career right now."
Of course, the question of will the Young Bucks ever sign with the WWE always pops up. The Bucks have teased going to the big company, but at this point in their careers, its clear that the Bucks don’t need to be In the WWE, which according to Matt, may be even better for their lore:
"I think every wrestler in the world says, 'yeah, I would probably have to complete my career by going to WWE.' But for Nick and I, we're so different, and we're so outside-the-box and we're not traditionalists. Like, how cool of a story would it be if we just never went? Do you know what I mean? And I'm not saying that we're not going to go, but I think our legend would almost grow bigger if we didn't go and if it's as opposed to if we did go, then I think we end up becoming just another tag team that ended up going there. Do you know what I'm saying? But how long did Sting hold out for? Do you know what I mean? Like, I don't know. Who know's man? Like, I can't say. I don't even know how long I'm going to be doing this." Matt laughed, "but maybe I go now, maybe I go later, I do just one match, and they put me in the Hall Of Fame. Who knows?"
